ABOUT HEATHER

CERTIFIED BIRTH DOULA

I have been attending births throughout my life but as a birth doula since 2013. I am certified through Birth arts international.

It is my passion that every mother I serve feels educated, well prepared, supported, heard, and nurtured throughout her pregnancy and birth experience. My hopes are that they have full trust in their body's ability and experience the strength they have within. It is this strength that will propel them in becoming confident in their abilities as a new parent.

I have been married since 1994 and a mother to 3 awesome kids. I have had a fascination and love for birth my whole life but my own experiences giving birth ignited my passion in helping women know they have options and have the final say in what happens to their bodies. Each one of my births were different and had challenging circumstances. These experiences have helped me to be empathetic to laboring women and provide encouragement and understanding. I have been so blessed to have supported so many moms through a variety of different labor and deliveries.

Each couple has different needs and desires. I assist parents in learning different scenarios and explore possibilities to help them connect to their hopes for their birth and to convey these wishes to all their care team, guiding them in having a beautiful experience.

Heather certified in Prenatal + Postpartum therapeutic touch for birth through Family Massage Education Center (*Heather is not a Licensed Massage Therapist). She is incredibly gentle, intuitive and sensitive. She uses these traits in her doula work. She is wildly passionate about the benefits massage brings to both her clients and for her own body.

ABOUT SARA

BIRTH DOULA, PLACENTA SPECIALIST, STUDENT MIDWIFE, CHILDBIRTH EDUCATOR

I am a mom to four amazing children. My passion for evidence based birth, and the importance of knowing the choices you have, began with my first pregnancy 12 years ago. I completed a full spectrum doula training through Doulas Training International, and a DONA birth doula training through Mothertree Birth Services in Portland. I am currently studying to become a midwife with Midwives College of Utah, to dive deeper into my passion. I firmly believe that all families deserve and should have access to respectful, individualized care during their childbearing year.

My philosophy on pregnancy and birth is that every birthing person has the innate right to a safe and informed birth where they are seen and heard and allowed bodily autonomy for themselves and their baby. My passion is to provide you emotional and physical support throughout your labor and delivery; and to offer education and information to you and your partner throughout pregnancy to ensure you are feeling confident and trust that your body can do this. Because you can!

I believe the time after birth is so important for bonding with your new baby and I provide support wherever you need it, with nutrition and emotional health and wellbeing my top passions. I also offer placenta encapsulation and art/keepsake services. Every birth and postpartum visit I am hired for is such an honor. I look forward to supporting you and your family on this beautiful journey.

ABOUT LINDA

There is a huge difference between birth with or without a Doula. Birth is always transformative: a challenging physical, emotional, and even spiritual experience. With professional doula support your partner becomes better able to be there for you, and you are freed to experience the power and wonder of giving birth on your terms.

When a family has experienced a previous cesarean surgery and desires a VBAC for their next birth they can face opposition from friends, family, doctors, and hospitals. I am experienced negotiating support for VBAC and am experienced with VBAC labors and births. Call for a Consult visit and we can talk!

Birth does not always work out the way we plan or the exact way we wanted it to but there are ways to support you that can make any birth personal, powerful, and yours. Every person and each family deserves a Birth Doula.

ABOUT KELLY

IBCLC, RLC

I’m Kelly Menne, IBCLC, RLC

As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and Certified Lactation Counselor, Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula and Postpartum Navigator, I serve McMinnville and surrounding areas in Northwest Oregon. I am a mom to many children and have been married for 33 years. As my children started to get older, I wanted to use my passions for babies and breastfeeding to help other families in ways that I wish I had been supported during my childbearing years.

I remember struggling to get my babies to latch, having extreme pain and feeling like I had no one knowledgeable that I could look to for help. I want to be that person for you and your family.

In my free time, I enjoy homeschooling my children, growing herbs and making herbal salves, tinctures and soaps, knitting and reading.

When should you consider reaching out to an IBCLC?…

Pain, engorgement, plugged ducts, mastitis, low milk supply, oversupply, infant weight gain issues, concerns about tongue and/or lip tie, poor feeding, gassiness and fussiness, latch issues, pumping concerns, prenatal breastfeeding education, pump flange fittings and bottle-refusal.

ABOUT ELAINE

PRODOULA CERTIFIED BIRTH DOULA, PRODOULA CERTIFIED POSTPARTUM AND INFANT CARE SPECIALIST, DANCING FOR BIRTH INSTRUCTOR, CHILDBIRTH EDUCATOR

Every birth I attend is unique and beautiful.  If this is your first or fifth child, makes no difference, because this is the ONLY time you will give birth to THIS child.  Make the experience what you want it to be.

My goal as your doula is to make sure you feel supported, informed, and in control of what happens to you and your baby.  Not only will I support you, give you information, and help you advocate for your own wishes, but I support your birthing partner and family as well.  The birthing experience involves the whole family and each person has unique needs for support.  Because you are inviting me into your personal birthing space, I am honored to be with you every step of the way and will provide you with the utmost respect and support through this life changing journey.

My goal as a Childbirth Educator and Dancing For Birth instructor is to give evidence-based  AND lived-experience information so you are ready to make informed decisions, feel empowered to give birth under your terms, and to maintain your autonomy each and every step of the way.  I will provide you with the tools to learn to trust your body to do what it was made to do, and  make your birthing experience physiologically empowering.  Postpartum care is also part of the education program, as it is vital to feel empowered and educated in what happens after baby arrives.

As a birth mom to 3, step-mom to 2 and foster mom of 3 amazing people I have a lot of love to go around.  I am also grandmother (Nani) to 11 beautiful little blessings that I can't ever get enough of (they keep me young!).   Supporting birth for more than 20 years now, I can't imagine doing anything else.  I am overwhelmed each and every time I get to witness individuals become parents and learn their new roles in life.  Yes, it can be a bit overwhelming at first, but with support and encouragement, you will be amazing!

TESTIMONIALS

“I had a very long labor and having Heather there was such a blessing! Heather helped me stay calm and feel like I could handle the pain like a pro. So much stress was alleviated by her presence and she brought so much comfort to the table! After our experience my husband says that he doesn’t understand how anyone gives birth without a doula present. Heather’s coaching is impressive and I would whole-heartedly recommend her as a wonderful doula to any expecting mother!” - Chrissy W

“Working with Kelly was wonderful! She was such a calming and reassuring presence in our home at a time when stress and sleep deprivation were high. She clearly provided information and patiently answered our questions and listened to our concerns. I think a consultation is a must for any new mom or any mom experiencing new nursing issues. Our breastfeeding experience went so smoothly after her consultation, and it set us up for months of successful nursing!” – Gina Johnson

“After just one phone call with my wife and one in person meeting with both of us, we knew Linda would be the best Doula to have on our team. It was liking having a mom, a close friend, doctor, nurse and a doula all in one! …

Our baby was born healthy and happy into a beautiful environment and we have Linda to thank for so much of it…

We would love to have Linda again for our future babies as well and would recommend her to anyone!” - Dave Rankin

“I had the pleasure of having Elaine as my doula at my last birth and was able to take her Dancing to Birth class as well! The class was educational as well as physical and helped prep my body for labor. I was able to have a VBAC after 2 cesareans and shocked the doctors. I wouldn't have been able to accomplish that without Elaine's support and encouragement.

She is compassionate and kind and made me comfortable with her immediately. She made herself available 24/7 for anything I needed and checked on me and sent encouraging messages leading up to labor. She was at the hospital with me more than 10 hours. She helped my partner stay calm and helped him support me. She massaged me through contractions, helped me ask questions, took photos of my labor, and even kept a timeline and surprised me with it later. It is a really sweet thing to have that I didn't even think of.

I highly recommend her and feel so blessed to have her in my life. I can't boast about her enough and tear up thinking about what I was able to accomplish with her support. I don't know how we could have done this without her and so glad I didn't have to find out! Seriously an amazing person and doula.” - Katherine B. Beaverton
